End of the Month BoldBrush Competition Entry for December

Silky Terriers are such spunky cuties with character. These Buddies were a commission. Taking their pictures was fun and a real joy. I was pleased with the outcome. The difference in their personality was captured in an expressive way. Hope you enjoy this image.

Remember, if you are a subscriber always come back to the website to see the paintings on the dark background of the blog.

This is another poem to share with you. A Christmas Gift from my dear high school friend Barbara-wiatrak Young from Utah, We wish to all a Blessed Holiday Season and a Prosperous, Healthy New Year of 2013. Peace shall come to all on the earth,

The Bethlehem Star
by barb wiatrak-young

There was a star in Bethlehem,
That shone so long ago,
And shepherds left their flocks
For the angels told them so..

They said that in a manger,
They would find a baby there,
Of humble birth he'd come to earth,
With a message he would share,

So the shepherds on the hillside,
Made haste to find the place
Where Jesus lay that Christmas day
With holiness on his face..

In the quietness of the manger,
In the hay all soft and warm,
Mary vowed his safety
She would keep him from all harm.

The cruel cross, the nail scarred hands
Were years away that night,
And Mary held her precious son
Her child so close and tight.

Down through the years & Mary's tears,
The baby would be grown
To save the world from deep despair,
His life was not his own...

So as the season of this year
Brings love and hope so bright
Keep in your heart the reason,
That a king was born that night...

May your Christmas music
And the joy you feel within,
Sound the sweet refrain of peace
On earth, goodwill to men...

Hope you enjoyed these three poems Barbara shared with use.
Hug your blessed children and family very tight this Christmas Season. Tell them how much you love and appreciate them being in you life. Tell them of the Joy they bring to you life.

I wish All Love, Happiness and Joy.

Another poem from Barbara-wiatrak Young, appropriate for this past week, yet written in remembrance of her Mother
These could be words for the parents of a child lost.

One More Time
by barb-wiatrak young

If I could hug you one more time,
Or tell you that I care,
To hold your hand and see your smile
That follows everywhere...

If I could kiss your tender cheek,
Or dry a little tear,
If I could hear your laughter,
But there is none to hear.

If only for a moment
We could share a word or two,
I would give the world & all
If I could know you knew.

That you are missed so much.
In everything I see,
Your sparkling eyes & joy
Were everything to me.

Why don't we hold each moment,
So fleeting and so fast,
The joy we only realize,
When it is gone and past.

We should cherish every moment,
There may not be another
To have just one more time,
To love and have each other..

One more time is gone,
It has vanished with your light,
And one more time, just one more time
Could fill my darkest night...

Thank you for stopping by tonight to experience these heartfelt words.

Sharing my long time friend Barbara Wiatrak Young Poem “Thanks”

My friend Barbara Wiatrak Young from Pasadena High School days in Texas enjoys writing poetry. She shares her thoughts with PHS alumni. This is my opportunity to share her thoughts with you; my appreciation, thanks and gratitude for your following my Blog Site.

Thanks
by barb wiatrak young

So oft I think and ponder
Of the things around I see
That bring the joy and wonder
Of all that belongs to me.

There is the bounty of the forests
Where I wander and I walk
And smell the scented pine,
Where the trees and creatures talk.

I own the mountains beauty
Mine to see and view
Then the grandeur of the sunsets
Or the mornings misty hue.

I see the world around me
It is mine to have and hold
If I take the time to see it
Natures beauty can unfold.

I don’t need a piece of paper
Or a deed that makes it mine
It belongs to everyone
It’s a gift of God’s design.

The violets and the dewdrops
The roses and the briar
The sky that lights the heaven
And oft times it seems on fire.

Everything around me
If I take the time to see
Belongs to us His children
A gift to you and me.

So enjoy sweet nature’s bounty
Be thankful for it all
For the freshness of the springtime
For the summer and the fall.

When winters icy hand
Lays her coldness on your heart
Remember it’s the plan
It is all a needful part.

Just Entered November Bold Brush Competition

The plan is to enter the BoldBrush Competition late on the last day. This places my image at the top of the group an easy find for you to see my watercolor and then experience the group of November artists in this month competition.

Texas Red Horse Trailer

In the past, when I traveled with a camera, it was an opportunity to capture structures in the Texas landscape. This Red Horse Trailer was one of those opportunities. A moment in time captured to be saved for the future, which is now this moment, being shared with you today. Have fun with the story.

Last time I looked my watercolor shows about the 3rd row. Seems the last entries are coming in later to night. Here is the link for November
