Happy New Year to ALL!

Your support and kind words were greatly appreciated during 2015.

I'm looking forward to joining each of you as we move into the wonders of 2016. May this be the best year ever.

The original watercolor painting is with a Southern California collector. In this image we designed as their Christmas Card.

The willow chairs on the patio were created by the actor Jim Neighbors.

Enjoy your New Year.

May you have Peace, Love and Happiness in 2016.

May each of you experience laughter, ease, grace and joy in all your 2016 days.

The quite watercolor!

Early on, when I started entering juried show, I learned the artist is never smart enough to outguess the juror. If the work is passed over for a show, enter the next available show. I’ve had paintings passed over for one show to win a 1st place or Best of Show in the next entry.

Austin Back Country

The West Valley Arts Council Surprise Invitational Show is a good example. My “Austin Back Country” 30 x 38 watercolor is a lovely quite afternoon sunlit painting. The WVAC show is competitive filled with accomplished artists. It was a sincere surprise and pleasure to find this enjoyable, relaxing painting received a 1st place aware. You never know how a show will turn out.

Also available as a quality Fine Art Print:
in select sizes through Fine Art America.

Wish all my Collectors a glorious Christmas, Holiday Season and a Happy New Year.

May each of you experience laughter, ease, grace and joy in all your 2016 days.

Santa Fe Sunlit Patio’s first Christmas in North Carolina

It’s hard to explain when one of your paintings finds that special loving home. I have an enormous appreciation for the collectors selecting to live with my voice for year to come.

“Santa Fe Sunlit Patio” purchased earlier this year, maybe a center of holiday party conversation bring the Southwest to North Carolina. This is a bold painting requiring attention, loving every minute of the experience. When a painting is enjoyed, its energy vibration rises to a higher level which is felt by the proud owner and their guests.

“Show Offs, Birds of Paradise” a 36 x 48 Fine Art America, fine art watercolor print on canvas, found its way to a collector in Southern California this year. Yes, because of the size and bright color, it’s a dining room focal point being a party show stopper.

I was excited to have the opportunity to print this 11 x 15 original watercolor; its current home is in Long Beach CA, in this large dramatic size. I’m always please with the professional fine art print work produced by Fine Art America. FAA is able to print to the quality of the original painting.

“Blue Domes of Santorini Greek Islands” 30 x 22 Fine Art America fine art watercolor print on acrylic, also found a new home with a Southern California collector. This was my first watercolor to print on Acrylic. The collector was pleased with the results. The image is covered with a sheet of acrylic which allows the luminous blue dome and yellow sky colors to pop in brilliance.

Blue Domes is another successful show stopper in an entry way graces by a beautiful orchard plant; another conversation piece. All my paintings dearly love the conversation and attention.

Happy Thanksgiving Season to ALL

"Country Strutter"
watercolor

Thanksgiving is here to celebrate with Family and Friends. In this fast year we have much to be thankful for, especially the lessons learned we carry into 2016. Thanksgiving is a day for reflection, love, friendship and gratitude for being alive, blessed with the experiences and opportunities given us this year. We express appreciation on this day, for the coming year, with a promise to pay more attention to the gifts and potentials available daily to either choose from or ignore; our personal choice. All that is requires is to keep our eyes open.

I wish each the wisdom and awareness to grasp your abundance this coming year. I’m grateful for ALL the friends in my life; you give my life value, focus, warmth, meaning and support. Each of you brings me great JOY and I thank you for the honor of allowing me to get to know you in greater depth.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving from Mary Dove Art and my Mr. Turkey Strutter watercolor!

The last show of the Fall / Winter Art Season. . . .

is the West Valley Arts Council Annual Invitational Show in Surprise, Arizona. The show started October 22nd running through December 11th. The Arts Council has a wonderful Civic Center Gallery which enhances the display of Fine Art. I’m fortunate to be awarded 1st place again this years. How lucky can one be to receive 1st place two years in a row in a very competitive show.

This year 2015, I was invited to show my choice of two paintings. In 2014 I was juried into the show. The Arts Council has an interesting show formula: 20 artists are invited to show two works each of their choice. Then, 20 additional artists had one piece juried into the show; a total of 60 paintings. My 30x38 watercolor “Dry Beaver Creek Sycamore” took 1st place this year.

My 2nd show entry was “Austin Back Country” another 30 x 38 watercolor.

In 2014,  the juried part of this Arts Council Invitational show, my Texas High Country Overlook 36x24 acrylic painting on canvas, also won a 1st place award. Call it luck or talent to have a 1st place in consecutive years. This is a highly competitive show pulling artists from the greater Phoenix area. The West Valley Arts Council is building a reputation of a show to either be invited too or be juried into.
