Holleween Greeting!
In the past, you’ve had the
opportunity to enjoy the poems of my high school friend Barbara Wiatrak Young, here is her creative contribution
for the Halloween Season. It’s my pleasure to share a little lightheartedness
with you this week. Barb is a young at heart person full of fun and joy. Enjoy!
Out of the
Darkness
barb
wiatrak-young
Out of the darkness, out of the deep
Where slimy, slithering monsters creep
Came a young ghost so very new,
So inexperienced, he couldn’t say boo..
All of the monsters laughed him to shame,
Gave him the silliest name of names..
The name they called him oh my gosh!
Was after an apple, it was McIntosh...
He practiced and practiced for the big night..
Halloween was close, oh no!! that same night
Everyone grabbed their scariest stuff,
This for mortals, would be very rough.
Every few minutes, they'd hear a quiet boo..
Mac was practicing, getting ready, too..
Then... it was dark in the local town
Kids and adults all around..
The monsters began to screech and howl!
They were even joined by a local owl,
No one seemed at all to hear
Nothing was there, not one ounce of fear.
Then of a sudden, out of the blue
Came an earth shattering, horrendous BOO!
Yep, it was Mac, he scattered them all
Little short kids, and grownups tall
Even the monsters were horrified, too
Practice makes perfect, really came true.
Happy fun holiday. See you
soon. Stay Close.
Have laughter, ease, grace and joy in your day.
