Working to catch up with my blog postings.

I've not entered the BoldBrush Competition lately. This, my 2nd month to post in 2015. In the past, I've always given you a link to the monthly artists competition feeling you would enjoy seeing exceptional artwork. My last posting in February had over 1600 artist's entries. Not sure how the juror can preview this many paintings and have the winners selected before the end of the month.

My intent is to share the opportunity to see and find artists whose work, style, subject, medium and websites, where you can see their selected body of work, which speaks to the joy of art in your life.

Because I just posted, my watercolor is at the end of the first rows. Cutoff time is mid-night Central Standard Time (San Antonio, TX).

I posted my watercolor just juried into the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society's Spring Show:

"Santa Fe Sunlit Patio"

22" X 30" full sheet watercolor

This watercolor is currently showcased on my website home page. Take a look see.

Here is your link to the April BoldBrush Competition.

Enjoy the experience. This will be more fun and work than walking into a retail gallery. Would like to see your mental washed with so much fine art you come away confused. This is a good thing. Take a deep breath. Go back the next day and do it again "Sam." Would love to hear your thoughts.

Wishing a Happy Mother's Day to ALL.

Have laughter, ease, grace and joy in your day.

New Juried Show in Phoenix

On this Easter weekend my Arizona Watercolor Association juried watercolor “The Outlook, Texas Green Jay” delivered to the Burton Barr Central Library second floor, 1221 N. Central Ave, for the annual AWA spring show in cooperation with the Phoenix Public Library. The show will be open from April 4 through May 2.  Show juror was Eric Wiegardt AWS-DF, NWS he has taught over 5,000 watercolorists his popular “Secrets of Painting Loose” workshops. Over 4,000 of his originals have been collected privately and corporately. If you’re in the Phoenix area, stop by the library to enjoy the show.

It is always a great experience to be juried into the AWA shows in Phoenix. Currently I'm a juried Silver Signature member working close to becoming a Gold Signature member. This means I can now put an AWA after my signature on my paintings. That is if I remember to sign with the AWA.

I’m back; life is a good busy time. Thought it would be fun to pick up were we left off, with BoldBrush Painting Competition.

I received the congratulations email for the month of February advising me my new oil painting was selected as part of the FAV 15% (juror’s 243 favorites of the 1620 February competition entries). Because of the high level of competition, I’m always pleased to be included in this group.

My entry was a 6 x 6” oil paint: “Iris Bearded Wonder”

This beauty was in a perfect light in my neighbor’s front yard. Was pleased with the painting, the feel of sunlight was captured.

A bit of good new news:

My Fine Art America online art business just went global. FAA opened a new production facility in the UK which means faster shipping in UK and Europe with lower shipping rates, no import tax, etc. This is great news for the art collectors and All lovers of art in this expanded area. Excellent job FAA for taking this bold step; your efforts are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work. “Art feeds the soul of humanity.”

September is the gateway to the colors of fall. Enjoy the seasons.

Have joy, laughter, ease and grace in your day.

Fortunate to be showing at the ASU West Glendale Campus Fletcher Library Gallery for the next 3 months – September 1st through November; Sponsored by the Sun Valley Connection LLC.

3 of my watercolors are part of this professional juried show of 60 pieces of art displaying both 2 and 3 dimensional works on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Library. I’m pleased to have this cross section of my watercolors to hang together in one place, which best expresses my watercolor techniques.

This is my 2nd time to show in the Fletcher Library. The last time was the Western Watercolor Federation juried show.

Take the time to visit the show and support Arizona Artists. The Fletcher Library is wonderful place for art to be displayed. Just Google ASU Fletcher Library – located between 43rd Ave and 51st Ave, right side on Thunderbird going west. If you’re in the Glendale area be sure to stop to enjoy the show. The Fletcher Library is a beautiful building. Makes you want to be back in collage. That’s a joke for some of you.

Hope all have and enjoyable Labor Day with family and friends.

Have joy, laughter, ease and grace in your day.
