Red and Yellow
Tomatoes, interesting subject
Remember that summer luncheon salad with red and
yellow tomatoes fresh from nature’s garden bounty? This summer time memory,
which occurs about this time of year, was the motivation for Red and Yellow
Tomatoes watercolor painting.
Yes, I’m back and wanted to share this refreshing
memory with you this evening. My intent with this watercolor was to work with
and enjoy the bright colors tomatoes provide for our taste buds and visual
delight. The challenge for this painting was the bright happy colors of the
tomatoes; in vivid contrast with the very deep blue background; deal with the wood table surface bleached out by the strong midday window sunlight.
This watercolor is easy to live with demanding to be
hung and enjoyed in the kitchen.
In the past, I've shared with you links to the BoldBrushCompetition. Red and Yellow Tomatoes was my July entry showing up as #2 on the third
line. Usually there are about 800 plus entries per month for you to explore.
