Granddaughter's Graduation Gift!

My granddaughter graduated from high school in June. Here is her gift to me, from her ceramic class, a 9.75” plate inspired by my watercolor “Chinese Dream Horse.” What a surprise and exceptional rendering, in ceramic glazes, of the vibrant colors in the painting. An impressive application of glaze colors, which look totally different before fired. This talented young artist is off to the university, majoring in Marine Biology. Thanks India for a “forever gift.”

“Chinese Dream Horse” was first designed in colored pencil before it was painted in watercolor. It’s one of those special paintings that slip off the end of the brush. The original painting is with a Santa Monica, CA Collector.

I’m so pleased India made the connected with this painting which took a great deal of time and enormous effort to create as a ceramic plate painting.

Needless to say I'm proud of my granddaughter as an International Baccalaureate Student plus I'm encouraging her to continue her interest in the arts at the university level. Feel it will be a good balance for her as a marine biologist. Good luck in your new ventures. Hugs
