Holleween Greeting!

In the past, you’ve had the opportunity to enjoy the poems of my high school friend Barbara Wiatrak Young, here is her creative contribution for the Halloween Season. It’s my pleasure to share a little lightheartedness with you this week. Barb is a young at heart person full of fun and joy. Enjoy!

Out of the Darkness
barb wiatrak-young
Out of the darkness, out of the deep
Where slimy, slithering monsters creep
Came a young ghost so very new,
So inexperienced, he couldn’t say boo..

All of the monsters laughed him to shame,
Gave him the silliest name of names..
The name they called him oh my gosh!
Was after an apple, it was McIntosh...

He practiced and practiced for the big night..
Halloween was close, oh no!! that same night
Everyone grabbed their scariest stuff,
This for mortals, would be very rough.

Every few minutes, they'd  hear a quiet boo..
Mac was practicing, getting ready, too..
Then... it was dark in the local town
Kids and adults all around..

The monsters began to screech and howl!
They were even joined by a local owl,
No one seemed at all to hear
Nothing was there, not one ounce of fear.

Then of a sudden, out of the blue
Came an earth shattering, horrendous BOO!

Yep, it was Mac, he scattered them all
Little short kids, and grownups tall
Even the monsters were horrified, too
Practice makes perfect, really came true.

Happy fun holiday. See you soon. Stay Close.

Have laughter, ease, grace and joy in your day.

Yes, I’m still working on a full Inbox. I’m sharing with you a 2nd wonderful event in September. The 1st one I’m working on how to reproduce it to share with you; to come later, a technical thing.

Moving forward: my “New Mexico Shifting White Sands Grass” watercolor received an Award of Excellence in the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society juried show. Mike Bailey was the juior for this show. See his website at http://mebaileyart.com  At the NAWS, 1st meeting for the fall season, this watercolor received two additional awards, People’s and Member’s Choice Award.

It’s an accomplishment to be awarded a position in any juried show, which is always greatly appreciated. However, for me personally, my most challenging awards are the ones bestowed on a painting by the public and especially the Member’s Choice Award which comes from the support of ones fellow artists. These two awards are the most difficult to receive because it is public opinion not the selection by a juror. Needless to say this was a warm, pleasant surprise to start the fall season.

In select sizes, printed on either glossy or matte finish canvas, my watercolor look fabulous on canvas because of my painting style; for paper, my personal preference is a Fine Art Print on Picture Rag, to mat and frame through Fine Art America

More catch-up to follow. Stay Close
