New Juried show at the Holland Gallery in Scottsdale AZ

I was fortunate to have two watercolors juried into the Arizona Artist Alliance in pARTnership with the Holland Gallery in North Scottsdale. The gallery is just off the east Carefree Highway at 60th street. Great Art, exceptional Show, beautiful gallery space for the show.

Exhibition Dates are:  

Sept. 26th through Oct. 29th (10:00 am to 3:00 pm)

My Award winning 38 x 30 watercolor, Blue Domes of Santorini was one of my juried paintings. This watercolor is a great show Piece.

I love this watercolor, now that it is finished. A little bit of a drafting challenge. Enjoy the painting.

My 2nd watercolor juried into this fall AAA show is the 29 x 22 watercolor of the historical La Posada Hollyhock Gardens, Winslow Arizona's old Santa Fe Railroad Hotel. Sedona photographer Paula Potter provided the resource image for this peak-a-boo glimpse into this beautiful garden.

As a once upon a time architect major, love the challenge this watercolor presented.

The desert watercolor in the center of the Marketplace Cafe display is an award winning watercolor, "Moroccan Desert Palm Illusion."

Sedona photographer Alan Stephenson's reference photo is the subject for this painting on he and Jan Saunders motorcycle South African vacation.

The challenge was to design with values and negative space this magnificent "Charging Elephant." The use of these two elements as a focus made for an interesting drawing of this African Elephant. Reference image provided by a past president of Fort Worth Texas Coke Cola distribution.

"Charging Elephant" was entered in a BoldBrush Competition and was selected as one of the jury's favorite 15% of 860 entries. So, this pencil drawing was 1 of 129 of the jury's selection.
