Happy Thanksgiving Season to ALL

"Country Strutter"
watercolor

Thanksgiving is here to celebrate with Family and Friends. In this fast year we have much to be thankful for, especially the lessons learned we carry into 2016. Thanksgiving is a day for reflection, love, friendship and gratitude for being alive, blessed with the experiences and opportunities given us this year. We express appreciation on this day, for the coming year, with a promise to pay more attention to the gifts and potentials available daily to either choose from or ignore; our personal choice. All that is requires is to keep our eyes open.

I wish each the wisdom and awareness to grasp your abundance this coming year. I’m grateful for ALL the friends in my life; you give my life value, focus, warmth, meaning and support. Each of you brings me great JOY and I thank you for the honor of allowing me to get to know you in greater depth.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving from Mary Dove Art and my Mr. Turkey Strutter watercolor!

The last show of the Fall / Winter Art Season. . . .

is the West Valley Arts Council Annual Invitational Show in Surprise, Arizona. The show started October 22nd running through December 11th. The Arts Council has a wonderful Civic Center Gallery which enhances the display of Fine Art. I’m fortunate to be awarded 1st place again this years. How lucky can one be to receive 1st place two years in a row in a very competitive show.

This year 2015, I was invited to show my choice of two paintings. In 2014 I was juried into the show. The Arts Council has an interesting show formula: 20 artists are invited to show two works each of their choice. Then, 20 additional artists had one piece juried into the show; a total of 60 paintings. My 30x38 watercolor “Dry Beaver Creek Sycamore” took 1st place this year.

My 2nd show entry was “Austin Back Country” another 30 x 38 watercolor.

In 2014,  the juried part of this Arts Council Invitational show, my Texas High Country Overlook 36x24 acrylic painting on canvas, also won a 1st place award. Call it luck or talent to have a 1st place in consecutive years. This is a highly competitive show pulling artists from the greater Phoenix area. The West Valley Arts Council is building a reputation of a show to either be invited too or be juried into.
